Ashley Westaway is the Managing Director of Border Rural Committee, a leading NGO based in the Eastern Cape Province. He has held this position for the past twelve years. He is currently reading for a PhD in history at Fort Hare University. His research interests include betterment dispossession and restitution, contemporary South Africa, human rights discourse, and the philosophy of history.
